JIBE - About the Journal

Scope

The Journal of International Business Ethics is the only English language journal, which caters specifically to scholars, policy-makers and business practitioners interested in the emerging field of International Business Ethics, published biannually in the United States and Mainland China by the Center for International Business Ethics (CIBE) and The American Scholars Press. The journal creates a platform for sharing original research, innovative ideas, and forging cooperation on business ethics issues, particularly as they apply within the Chinese context.

Call for Papers

The Journal of International Business Ethics currently welcomes submissions of original unpublished articles in English or Chinese on all aspects of International Business Ethics. Following the recent COP 15 Copenhagen Climate Conference, and in light of its perceived failings, the coming edition of JIBE, Vol. 7 No. 2 will contain a special focus on the topic of low carbon development and sustainability leadership. All submissions pertaining to international business ethics with or without a focus on China are still welcomed. All submissions should be sent electronically to submit.jibe@gmail.com. We accept the following:

  • Regular articles (up to 8,000 words including notes and references): in-depth applied or theoretical pieces combining original research with strong analytical argument
  • Book reviews (1000-2000 words)
  • Research reports (up to 4,000 words including notes and references): shorter reports outlining primary research and empirical findings.

All submissions should conform to the mission of the Journal. It is important to note that because of our diverse readership, spanning theoretical and applied fields not to mention Eastern and Western cultures, it is important that, no matter the specific issue or context under discussion, the relevance of the argument to the broader understanding of Business Ethics internationally should be clear. Similarly, specific technical terms and concepts should always be defined.

The review process may take up to 8 weeks to conclude and is done in a blind-review format. Please note our Important Dates section to plan accordingly. The earlier your paper is received the sooner it will be turned over to our reviewing department.

IMPORTANT DATES:

  • April 4th - Submissions Deadline
  • May 31st - All papers will have gone through our reviewing process and will begin final editing.
